Laura Mae (Giddings) Hines

Laura Mae Hines, 55, of Westport, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at her residence.

Born April 19, 1964, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Charles and Shirley (Sturgill) Giddings. She married Randall Hines on November 29, 1979, in Westport; he survives.

Laura worked as an DST for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville for 8 years and had worked for numerous local factories. She was a board member and youth leader for the Elizabethtown Cornerstone Fellowship and was a former Girl Scout Leader and Den Scout for the Cub Scouts. Laura enjoyed crafts, attending flea markets, and she loved spending time with her grandkids.

Surviving with her husband of 39 years, Randall; are sons, Randall (Larissa) Hines II and Matt (Diane) Cathey both of Westport; daughters, Amanda (Michael) Nugent and Cheyenne (Mark) Walters both of Westport; brother, Frederick Giddings of Wabash; sister, Elizabeth (Jeanie Gasper) Ackerman of Knightstown; grandchildren, Chrishonna (Logan Jones) Barkes, Michael (Miranda) Nugent II, Marcedes (Jamin) Nugent, Kyle (Lea) Nugent, Jacolyn Cathey, Tyler Nugent, Matthyas Cathey, Madison Walters, John Walters, Charlie Walters, Kali Hines, and Sami Hines all of Westport; great-grandchildren, Delanie Motley, Emerson Nugent, Ashlynne Russell, and Colsyn Russell all of Westport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dale and Charles Frederick Giddings; and grandsons, Cheavy Nugent and Mark Walters II.

A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Hines residence 2575 W. County Road 1000 N., Westport, Indiana 47283. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon was entrusted with arrangements.

Memorials in honor of Laura may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
