Leoda Derringer

Leoda Derringer, 98, of Butlerville, passed away at 1:13 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the home of her niece in Scipio.

Born January 11, 1923, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Forrest and Ollie (Hartwell) Campfield. She married Larry Derringer; he preceded her in death in 1971.

Leoda worked for the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville and had previously worked for the former Regal Rugs in North Vernon and Shirt Factory in Seymour. She enjoyed being outdoors, crocheting and fishing.

Leoda is survived by her niece and caregiver, Georgia Hines of Scipio; and several grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Jerry Derringer, daughter, Patsy Powell, brothers, Charles, William and Oscar Campfield and sisters, Helen McNamee, Martha Jane Seal and Nellie Campfield.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
