Lois Lorene Simpson, 85, Indianapolis, formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
Born December 27, 1935, in Cynthia, IN, she was the daughter of William Elmer and Ulla Etness (Akers) Henry.
Lois worked in the cafeteria for Jennings County Schools and had previously worked for Decatur Mold in North Vernon and Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in North Vernon and the American Legion in Madison. Lois enjoyed watching television, mowing yards, cooking, and traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda S. Monroe of Indianapolis; sons, Billy Ray “Bill” (Michelle) Warren Jr. of Columbus and Kevin L. Warren of North Vernon; brother, Russell David Henry of Indianapolis; sisters, Sandra Horton of Indianapolis, and Jeanetta Webb of North Vernon; grandchildren, Erica Bean of West Virginia, Brian (Dana) Warren of Indianapolis, Bradley Warren of Scipio and Nigel Warren of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Kira Nichole Warren of Scipio, Evelyn Warren of Indianapolis and Elizabeth Warren of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, C.J. Henry; brothers, Don Edward, Charles Joseph, and William Elmer Henry; and sisters, Virginia Wise, Dorothy Dean and Shirley Patton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Lois to the Alzheimer’s Association.
