Loretta Marie (Robins) Deeg

Loretta Marie Deeg, 84, North Vernon, passed away on May 13, 2020 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born December 14, 1935 in Grammer, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Cleonia (Cooper) Robbins. Loretta married Paul R. Deeg on February 15, 1953, in Queensville; he preceded her in death on September 1, 2001.

Loretta was a member of the Spirit of Life Church, where she played piano. She had previously been employed at Oxford Industries and also worked in house cleaning for many years. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano and organ, doing crossword puzzles, reading, embroidering, and going to church.

Loretta is survived by her son, Eric Deeg, of North Vernon; sister, Sandra Graham, of Scipio; grandchildren Chelsea Deeg of Lorton, Virginia, Courtney (Jake) Townsend of Indianapolis, and Tracy (Roger) Boswell, Jason (Cassie Large) Zabecki Sr., and Scott (Sharon) Zabecki, all of North Vernon; great grandchildren, Alicia Hawthorne, Jessica Hawthorne, Jason Zabecki Jr., Katie (Matthew Arnholt) Zabecki, and Emily Schamel, all of North Vernon, and Elizabeth Schamel of Columbus; and great-great grandchildren, Kayden Fear of North Vernon and Elena Arnholt of Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Deborah Spaulding; son, Brian Deeg; great grandson, Skyler Zabecki; and sister Carol Harding.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In compliance with the CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time. We thank our families for their continued cooperation during these difficult times as we strive to help keep our community safe. A private family service will be held, and burial will take place at Vernon Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given through the funeral home in honor of Loretta to the Restoration Fellowship Community Church, the American Heart Association, or the American Lung Association.
