Madawna Kay Anderson, 44, of North Vernon, passed away on December 24, 2021, at I.U. Health Methodist in Indianapolis.
Born January 13, 1977, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Tom and Jeanne (Carpenter) Long. She is currently engaged to Chey Ezzo.
Madawna was a 1995 graduate of Jennings County High School. She was currently employed as a cook for the Jennings County High School. Madawna enjoyed being a Nana and spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She had a big heart and was willing to help others whenever she could.
Survivors include her sons, Jacob McCarty and Jordan McCarty, both of North Vernon; her daughters, Olivia Campbell of North Vernon, and Hannah (Justin) Nugent of Westport; parents, Tom and Jeanne Long of North Vernon; fiancé, Chey Ezzo of North Vernon; brothers, Jason (Amy) Long of North Vernon and Jonah Long of Indianapolis and grandchildren, Jacarri McCarty and Karter McCarty, both of Seymour, Stella Colis, Lilah Abshear, both of North Vernon and Isaac Nugent of Westport; and expecting grandchild, Inslee Nugent.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Cleo Long and Ernest and Wilma Carpenter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. John Merrifield officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
