Madeline Carol Dudgeon, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:17 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, at her residence.
Born January 8, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Chester and Madeline (Taulbee) Fugate. She married James R. Dudgeon on October 31, 1969, in Hebron, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on August 19, 2017.
Madeline was a nurse’s aide for 30 plus years working at Woods Point Nursing Home in Florence, Kentucky, and American Nursing Care. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Vernon. Madeline enjoyed going to yard sales, country music, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams and watching her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Dudgeon and Fayetta Weston, both of North Vernon; brothers, William (Diane) Fugate of Verona, Kentucky, Gary W. Fugate of Kentucky, and Granville D. (Terry) Fugate of North Vernon; grandchildren, Earl (Kelsey) Weston, Garrett (Lona) Weston and Maddy Weston, all of North Vernon and Joshua Weston of Madison; and great-grandchild, Earl Ray Weston III of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Arthur, James and Chester Fugate Jr.; and sisters, Josephine Sturgeon, Linda Gardner, Esther Shears and Julie Russ.
A private graveside service for Madeline will be conducted in the Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Madeline to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
