Margaret Ann Wilder, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Majestic Care in North Vernon.
Born September 27, 1938, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of George D. and Ruth M. (Gaskill) Williams. She married Frederick Wilder on September 3, 1993; he preceded her in death.
Margaret retired in 1999 from the housekeeping department for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville where she had worked for 32 years. She attended Queensville Community Church and was a member of Am Vets Post #7 and North Vernon Moose Lodge. Margaret enjoyed going to the gambling boat, shooting pool, working crossword puzzles, and watching court shows and Walker Texas Ranger. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Diana) Waltermire of San Jacinto, Donald (Rebecca) Waltermire of North Vernon, and William (Beverly) Waltermire of Commiskey; daughters, Ruth (Michael) Collett, Lora (Richard) McGuire and Angie (Melvin) Marksberry, all of North Vernon; sisters, Norma Milliman, Cherrill Martin, and Donna Swindell, all of North Vernon, and Mary (Delbert) Fields of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Susan Williams and Billie
Higdon; grandson, Michael Leroy Waltermire; and great-granddaughter, Carmen Waltermire.
A funeral service for Margaret will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Bro. David Neal and Bro. Gerald Caudill officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Margaret through the funeral home for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.
