Margaret Elizabeth “Mindi” McPeek, 59, of Greenwood, formerly of Scipio, passed away at 10:49 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at her residence.
Born April 3, 1963, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Jerry McPeek and Rita Hedges.
Mindi was a 1981 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as an analyst for Indiana Blood Center (Versiti) in Indianapolis for 24 years; she had previously driven a bus for Jennings County Schools for several years. Mindi enjoyed riding motorcycles, Halloween and playing video and board games.
Survivors include her daughters, Brandi Foist of Scipio and Heather (Amos) Fox of Round Rock, Texas; her son, Tanner Foist of Greenwood; sisters, Becky (Tommy) Johnson, Susie (Chris) Laney and Joy (Omer) Lollar, all of Edinburgh; brother, Charlie (Kathy) McPeek of Commiskey; grandchildren, Emily Lee of Columbus, Dalton Lee, Lucas Wilkerson and Lauryn Wilkerson, all of Scipio, Elizabeth Fox, Caroline Fox, and Phoenix Fox, all of Texas, Kali Thompson of Franklin and Brady Bannister of Hayden; and great-grandchild, Kayden Harris Jr. of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Cory Foist; daughter, Kristen Niccole Bannister; and grandson, Abrams Fox.
The visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials for Mindi may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.
