Mark Allen Holt, 58, of North Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, in Jennings County.
Born March 18, 1961, in Lawrenceburg, he was the son of Zelpha (Renfro) Holt Otte and the late Robert Holt. He married Bonita Davis on December 23, 1983, in Columbus.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of Columbus North High School and worked maintenance and custodial for D&M Janitorial for 35 years. He was a member of Vernon Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, cook outs, planting trees, and working on cars.
Surviving with his wife, Bonita, is a son, Charles (Sara) Davis of Gulf Shores, Alabama; daughter, Stacey (Charlie) Daugherty of Butlerville; his mother, Zelpha Otte of Columbus; brothers, Larry Holt of North Vernon and Harold Holt of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Trinity Davis and Brooke Davis, both of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Alyssa (Alexander) Harrod of Butlerville, and Blake Daugherty and Stephen Tyler (Cindy) Daugherty, both of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Conner Daugherty of North Vernon and Sage Harrod and Noel Harrod, both of Butlerville.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Robert Holt Jr.
A memorial service for Mark will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon with Rev. Don Morris officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday, December 16, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Diabetes Foundation or Vernon Baptist Church.
