Mark Eugene McCreery

Mark Eugene McCreery, 52, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:42 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his residence.

Born February 1, 1968, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Robert McCreery and Ellen (Hammersley) Gatrell. He married Kim (Jordan) McCreery on March 18, 2018 in North Vernon; she survives.

Mark worked for McCowan’s Market in North Vernon, as a pipe fitter for Dilling Group Inc., for Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and for Jennings County Pallet. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife; son, Dustin (Alexis Coffey) McCreery of Indianapolis; daughter, Trista McCreery of Seymour; brother, John (Brooke) Gatrell of North Vernon; sisters, Laura (Roger) James, Tara McCreery, and Johna (Tommy) Palmer, all of North Vernon; granddaughter, Charlotte McCreery of Indianapolis; stepmother, Judy Gatrell of Indianapolis; stepsons, Daniel (Katelyn Gray) Campbell of Norman and Tyler (Addie Skelton) Campbell and Jeremiah Graham, both of North Vernon; stepbrothers, Mark (Kim) Kemp of Martinsville, Bob (Candi) Kemp of Indianapolis, and Audie (Theresa) Kemp of Avon; stepsister, Sue Wright of Martinsville; seven nephews; nine nieces; twenty great-nephews; and twelve great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, John Gatrell.

A funeral service for Mark will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mark through the funeral home to help with expenses.
