Marla Darnell Wasson, 70, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at her residence.
Born November 9, 1954, in Seymour; she was the daughter of the late Billy Ramey and Beverly Earlene Tando. She married Randy Wasson on December 5, 1981, in at their home in Jennings County; he survives.
Marla was a 1973 graduate of Jennings County High School and a 1975 graduate of Sullivan Business School. She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for the Country Squire Lakes Community Office. Marla was a longtime member of Queensville Community Church. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, cooking for her family, horseback riding, she loved animals, collecting antiques, and mowing grass. Marla was a huge Elvis Fan.
Surviving with her husband of 43 years, Randy, are her daughters, Amanda (Chuck) Kuhfahl of Nineveh and Jolene Wasson of North Vernon; brother, Nathan Ramey of North Vernon; sisters, Dickiey (Dan) Ginger of Seymour and Stephanie Ramey of Taylorsville; God-children, Jaclyn (Jimmy) Vanosdol of Columbus and Malcomb (Juliana) Hill of Butlerville; grandchildren, Mikayla Michael and Brendon Michael both of North Vernon, Hensley Kuhfahl of Nineveh, Carter Michael and Katelynn Michael, both of North Vernon, and Charley Kuhfahl of Nineveh; and great-grandchild, Primrose Bruce of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Michael Robin Perdue; and sister-in-law, Sharon Ramey.
A funeral service for Marla will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Scott Chasteen and Brother Gerald Caudill officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Memorials may be made in honor of Marla through the funeral home to Riley Children’s Hospital, Our Hospice of Jennings or Queensville Community Church.
