Martha Louise “Marti” Bodenheimer, 75, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at her residence.
Born July 31, 1948, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Charles John and Mary Helen (Samson) Bovenschen.
Marti was a 1966 graduate of Arlington High School in Indianapolis and worked in retail music sales prior to being a Direct Sales Supervisor for Eby Brown Corporation in Indianapolis for 20 years before retiring. She was their top seller for 11 years running. Marti was a member of Grace Baptist Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed playing piano, organ, and played the accordion as a child, camping, traveling and genealogy. Marti loved making food from scratch, going out to eat, and spending time with her family, especially on the holidays.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Lynn “Debbie” (Douglas E.) Sisson and Mary Katherine “Katie” Lawley, both of North Vernon; sister, Sandi Vasel of Florida; grandchildren, Gregory Neal Sisson, and Tyler James Sisson, both of Seymour, Megan Hope (Nich) Thomas of Scottsburg, Jon Mychael Belt of Hagerstown, Gyles Wayne Lawley of Richmond and Alexis Sue Lawley of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte Elaine Sisson of Scottsburg, Charles Lee Belt, Jon Belt Jr., and Zamiriah Belt, all of Richmond, and Alexandria Marie “Alex” Lawley of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Reverends Kevin Ridder and Andy Sommers officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Lincoln Memory Gardens Chapel in Whitestown.
Memorials may be through the funeral home in honor of Marti to Grace Baptist Church.
