Mary Ann Vaught Obituary

Mary Ann Vaught, 82, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

Born February 2, 1942, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Owen and Helen Claire (Hellar) Horstman.

Mary Ann was a 1960 graduate of North Vernon High School. She was employed as a press operator for Osram (now Valeo) in Seymour before retiring on February 1, 2007. She had previously worked for Arvin’s in North Vernon. Mary Ann enjoyed sewing, needlework crafts, cooking, and gardening.

Survivors include her sons, Christopher Dale Vaught of Bloomington and Trent Michael (Cathy) Vaught of Brownstown; her daughter, Michelle D. (Carl) Robertson of North Vernon; brothers, Michael (Peggy) Horstman of Martinsville, and Matthew Horstman and Mark Horstman, both of North Vernon; sister, Maureen (Kevin) Bumgarner of Lafayette; grandchildren, Cindy (Tony) Callahan of North Vernon, Elizabeth (Rob Murphy) Robertson of Scipio, Trentity (Erik) Edwards of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Maika Agpalza and Lois Vaught, both of Brownstown; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Caleb, Isaac, and Benjamin Callahan, all of North Vernon.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, and great-granddaughter, Gabriella Callahan.

Private services were held with burial in the Vernon Cemetery. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted with the care of arrangements.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Mary Ann to the American Cancer Society or Majestic Care of North Vernon.
