Mary Jane (Boswell) Reeves

Mary Jane Reeves, 77, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Majestic Health Care in North Vernon.

Born August 26, 1942, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of James E. and Ruth (Calvert) Boswell. She married Thomas G. Reeves on March 1, 1959 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Walesboro; he preceded her in death on March 26, 2013.

Mary Jane did tax preparation for 15 years for H&R Block in Seymour and North Vernon retiring in 2002 and had previously worked as a waitress. She was a member of Risen Saviour Bible Church in North Vernon and enjoyed crocheting, camping and playing guitar.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas G. (Carla) Reeves II and Jonathan Reeves both of North Vernon, James (Kim) Reeves of Butlerville, and Darrin (Kim) Reeves of Zenas; daughters, Lora Anderson and Dana Aldridge both of Hayden; sisters, Susan (Thomas) Cartwright of North Vernon, and Pamela Davidson of Seymour;  13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; granddaughter, Kristina Everroad and sister, Patricia Boswell.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Roger Hearne officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
