Mason D. Fugate

Mason D. Fugate, 55, of Commiskey, passed away at 5:12 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

Born January 31, 1971, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Mason C. and Lena (Riley) Fugate.

Mason was a high school graduate and attended Versailles Vocational School, and he started working in 1995 for Metaldyne (AAM) in North Vernon where he worked maintenance.  He was a volunteer for Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Coffee Creek Conservation Club. Mason enjoyed collecting cars, especially Mustangs, tinkering and sitting on the porch.

Survivors include his sisters, Penny Ashley of Paris Crossing and Verna Watts of North Vernon; significant other, Pam Dean of North Vernon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jim and Donald Fugate; and sister, Linda McIntosh.

A visitation for Mason’s family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the closing prayer at 6:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mason through the funeral home for funeral expenses.
