Matthew Wayne Hatton, 31, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:45 p.m. on February 21, 2020, at his residence.
Born September 3, 1988, in Columbus, he was the son of David Hatton and Peggy Pitts Heitz. He married Lindsay Pennycuff on June 16, 2014, in North Vernon; she survives.
Matthew attended Jennings County High School. He worked at Walmart Distribution, in Seymour, loading trucks since 2015. Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding four-wheelers. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children.
Survivors include his wife, Lindsay; sons, Konner Hatton and Easton Pennycuff, both of North Vernon, Taylor Hatton of Madison; daughter, Courtney Hatton of Madison; mother, Peggy Heitz of Seymour; brother, Chase (Amber Hilligoss) Hatton of Madison; sister, Amber Hatton of North Vernon; grandparents Larry and Barbara Heitz of Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Hatton, and stepfather, Brian Heitz.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon, with Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home for a fund for Matthew’s children.
