Matthew Ryan "Matt" Jones

Matthew Ryan “Matt” Jones, 30, of North Vernon, passed away on March 2, 2023, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born August 4, 1992, in Seymour, he was the son of Marlin Anthony “Tony” and Robin (McCune) Jones.

Matt was a 2011 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as a plumber for RMC Mechanical in New Albany. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, golf, all sports and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Tony Jones of North Vernon and Robin (Jonathan Whitaker) Jones of Butlerville; brothers, Collin (Kalynn Short) Jones of North Vernon and Brandon Jones of Indianapolis; sister, Chelsie Jones of Indianapolis; grandparents, Henry and Betty McCune of Butlerville and Anthony and Caryl Jones of Queensville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service for Matt will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Otter Creek Cemetery in Nebraska.

Memorials in honor of Matt may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
