Obituary
Melinda Sue Jahrries, 57, of Columbus, passed away at 6:48 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
She was born on April 9, 1965, in Madison, she was the daughter of Bernard and Sandra (Minor) Jahrries.
Melinda was a 1984 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked Rest Stop Maintenance for INDOT for several years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Melinda enjoyed reading and she loved cats.
Survivors include her parents, Bernard and Sandra Jahrries of North Vernon; brothers, Joe (Tasha) Jahrries of Columbus and Scott Jahrries of North Vernon.
In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no service to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Melinda through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
