Michael "Mike" Ritchie

Michael “Mike” Ritchie, 53, of North Vernon, passed away on August 4, 2020, in North Vernon.

He was born May 14, 1967, in Jackson County, and was the son of French Ritchie and the late Lena Faye Proffitt Ritchie. He married Sabra Gail Bridges on May 14, 2001 in Vernon; she preceded him in death on November 13, 2018.

Mike was a graduate of the 1st Apostolic Christian Academy. He worked as an assistant for Kathy Woods from 2015 until present and had worked 30 years for Hatton’s Carpet. He was a member of the North American Hunting and Fishing Club. Mike enjoyed bowling, being outdoors, dogs and animals.

Survivors include his father, Frenchie Ritchie of North Vernon; siblings, John Ritchie, Allen Ritchie and Tina Ritchie, all of North Vernon; his caregiver, Kathy Woods of North Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at the Restoration Community Church (the former Butlerville Baptist Church) in Butlerville with the Rev. Gil Hawkes and Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in the Baldwin Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
