Mollie Corbin Obituary

Mollie Flo Corbin, 86, of North Vernon, passed away on January 17, 2024, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus, Indiana.

Born in Lovett Township in Jennings County on November 16, 1937, in a little white house on Road 500 to Eva Abbott Carson Kaufman and Emery Fish Carson. Mollie moved to Anderson, Indiana when she was 3 years old and then moved back to Jennings County at the age of 6.

Mollie graduated high school from Paris Crossing in 1956. On June 24, 1956, Mollie married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Kenneth Lewis Corbin, who precedes her in death at Commiskey Baptist Church. Mollie and Ken dated all 4 years of high school, and she cheered him on from the sidelines as a cheerleader while he played basketball.

Along with her husband, they built a life of service, love, devotion, and sacrifice to Jesus Christ. Together they founded the Mission of MCR, inc. and Burnt Pines Church of Christ. Through both, Mollie selflessly cared for others with the love of Jesus.

Mollie devoted her life to helping others find Christ, regardless of where she was or what she was doing. It is no secret that Mollie would tell everyone she came in contact with about the love of Jesus. Her faith was steadfast through her marriage, raising children, missionary work, and friendships. Even in her final days, her mission of being a disciple of Christ carried her through her days and made a lasting impact on the people around her in her final moments.

Mollie and Ken founded the Burnt Pines Church of Christ in their home and in the first year they baptized 17 people from Ken's family. They started and were the leaders of the J.C. Horse and Pony 4-H Club. She was involved in the founding of Burnt Pines Water Corporation.

Mollie worked at the Scenic View Restaurant in high school. She thoroughly enjoyed her time working for Cummins Engine Company for 10 years. Following her time at Cummins she became a homemaker and full-time missionary. She volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Mobile for over 10 years. She loved to teach Sunday School and looked forward to Vacation Bible School all year long. At the age of 80, she was active in helping the youth of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Mollie and Ken had 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and too many foster children to count. She loved all of them fiercely.

She is survived by her children, Eve Davis of North Vernon, IN, Danny (Denise) Corbin of Noth Vernon, IN, Mark (Kim) Corbin of Elizabethtown, IN, and Millie (Clifton) Beverly of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Dawn (Brian) Johnson of Bedford, IN, Kristy (Luke) Collins of Indianapolis, IN, Kenda (Derrick) Maschino of North Vernon, IN, Danny (Amy) Corbin of Indianapolis, IN, Dena (Brad) Monday of North Vernon, IN, Maggie (Carson) Fleetwood of Columbus, IN, Hannah Corbin of Phoenix, AZ, Cameron (Makayla) Corbin of Cincinnati, OH, Elise Beverly of Columbus, IN, and Corbin Beverly of Columbus, IN; great-grandchildren, JT, Taylor, and Rachel Monday of North Vernon, IN, Audrey, Jackson, and Eleanor Corbin of Indianapolis, IN, Scott and Kate Johnson of Bedford, IN, Evee Collins of Indianapolis, IN, David, Lydia, and Josie Maschino of North Vernon, IN, and Henry and William Fleetwood of Columbus, IN; sister, Beth (Roger) Scroggins; niece, Michele (Michael “Mike”) Followell; nephew, Rick (Alma) Scroggins; and great nephews and great-great nieces, Seth (Shana) Richardson, Claire Richardson, Madison Richardson, Aaron (Aeriel) Richardson, Evan Richardson, and José Scroggins.
