Mona Bee Katherine Jervis, 92, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:24 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Majestic Care in North Vernon.
Born April 15, 1927 in Elkart, she was the daughter of Lorin E. and Opal L. (Palmer) Jervis.
Mona was a 1944 graduate of Fisher High School in Fisher, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois. She worked as the Vet Tech Instructor for the University of Illinois for 35 years before retiring in 1979 and worked at Davis Conrad Animal Hospital in Elkhart for 7 years. Mona was a member of Calvary UM Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, a life member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Philanthropic Sorority, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, YM/YW (Young Men and Young Women) member. She enjoyed traveling and dog sitting.
Survivors include her sister, DeNelda Davis of Maine; several cousins, including Susan (Jim) Krider of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Palmer Jervis, Marlin Miller and Charles Jervis.
In keeping with her wish’s cremation is planned and no services are planned at this time. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service was entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
