Mossie Carol Fultz, 80, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her residence.
Mossie was born on April 28, 1945, in Seymour, Indiana. She graduated from North Vernon High School, Class of 1963. She attended Versailles Tech School, Ivy Tech, and Franklin College of Nursing. She married Phillip Warren Fultz on August 26, 1978, he preceded her in death on October 29, 2009. Mossie retired in Florida after a fifty plus year career in nursing. She worked at Franklin Hospital, Muscatatuck State Hospital, and was a founder of Rescue 69 in Versailles. Mossie was a member of Trinity United Methodist in Madison, Christ Baptist Church in North Vernon, and American Legion in Florida. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, boating on the ocean and cooking chili. She loved watching racing and driving cars. For many years Mossie painted cars and was a score keeper at Twin City.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Slimko of Florida, Christy Fox of Hurst, Texas, and Kathy (Jeff) Burton of Elizabethtown; Sister, Loretta Ponsler of North Vernon; as well as nineteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Dewey and James Holman; and brothers, Ross Newman, Edward “Butch” Wooddell, John Newman, and Henry Jr. Hudson.
A funeral service for Mossie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with Rev. Damon Spurgeon and Rev. Jerry W. Miller officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Otter Creek Cemetery.
