Norma Jean Stoner, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:23 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at her residence.
Born April 22, 1936, in Indianapolis, Mrs. Stoner was the daughter of Hervey and Twylah Mars Born. She married Herschel E. Stoner on November 13, 1955, in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on October 11, 2019.
Mrs. Stoner was a 1954 graduate of North Vernon High School. She was a homemaker, owner of Stoner’s Upholstery and became a Emergency Medical Technician and worked for Rescue 20 in North Vernon. Mrs. Stoner was a member of the First Christian Church and Harmony Quilters both in North Vernon. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening, mushroom hunting, working crossword puzzles and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Brian Stoner of North Vernon; daughters, Melanie Stoner of Los Angeles, California, Kim (John) Wetzel of Seymour and Marcy (Allen) Clark of North Vernon; sister, Donna Randall of North Vernon; grandchildren, Jason (Cheryl) Wetzel of North Vernon and Matt (Jenna) LaMaster of Michigan; and great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kyla LaMaster, both of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herschel E. Stoner; and her daughter, Lorraine Sue Stoner.
Due to the circumstances surrounding us at this time with the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic a private family funeral will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials donations may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc., K9’s for Warriors, and the Harmony Quilters to help make veterans quilts.
