Olin Cecil Reed, 61, of Columbus, passed away at 4:51 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019, at his residence.
Born May 16, 1958, in Seymour, he was the son of Dallas and Mabel (Lane) Reed. He married Jana (Koenig) Ford on September 17, 2011, in Scipio; she survives.
Olin was a 1977 graduate of Jennings County High School and a graduate of Honda Motorcycle Mechanic School. He worked as a truck driver for Cardinal Trucking for 20 years. He had also worked for Honda of Madison and numerous Honda shops in Indianapolis. He was a member of A.B.A. T. E. Region 7 and Scipio Presbyterian Church. Olin enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, metal fabrication, fishing and camping.
Surviving with his wife, Jana, are granddaughters, Kennedy Reed, Liberty Reed, and Alana Cook, all of Columbus; step-daughters, Carrie Reed and Holly (Alan) Cook, both of Columbus; brothers, Gary (Sheri) Reed of Indianapolis and Warren (Debbie) Reed of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania; sister, Connie (Cecil) Martin of Scipio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Olin will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, December 13, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society for Lung Research.
