Patricia Ness Rodgers

Patricia Ness Rodgers, 80, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:32 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at her residence.

Born December 24, 1939, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of Wilber and Emma (Borst) Ness. She married Glenn F. Rodgers Jr. on August 15, 1981 in Knoxville, Tennessee; he survives.

Patricia graduated high school in England and received a bachelor’s degree in arts from Dayton University in Ohio. She taught piano, cello, and violin in different colleges and schools in Ohio for 18 years. Patricia loved to travel and had traveled to several countries in Europe and to every state in the United States except for Alaska and Hawaii. She loved horses and German Shepherds and had owned several of them over the years.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn F. Rodgers Jr.; brother, Dr. James Ness of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; sisters, Sandra (Dick) Webster of Morristown, Tennessee and Linda Euler of Malibu, California; and nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Ron) Branch of Knoxville, Tennessee, Valaria (Jeff) Maes of Chicago, Illinois, Angie Vlahos of Portland, Oregon, Alysse Ness of Jacksonville, Florida, and Cooper Ness of Phoenix, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
