Patricia Carol "Patty" Smith Obituary

Patricia Carol “Patty” Smith, 66, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel.

Born February 24, 1959, in Scottsburg, she was the daughter of the late James Adams and Edna (Miles) Lamb. She married Bill Smith on March 27, 1987, in Manchester, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on February 21, 2025.

Patty was a 1977 graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover. She was a housewife who enjoyed fishing, hunting, flowers, gardening, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, William Smith and Rick Smith, both of North Vernon, and James “JR” Adams of Madison; her daughter, Trisha Bertram of Commiskey; sisters, Felicity Lamb of Vevay and Jennifer Lamb of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Julia Henry of North Vernon, Patricia Perkins of Brownstown, Gabriel Pierce Baker of Greenwood, Waylon Baker of Seymour, Jason Bertram and Kylie Smith, both of Commiskey, Keegen Adams of Madison, William Smith of Maine and Kaylie Prince of Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Pamela Baker; stepfather, Jake Lamb; and brother, James “Jimmy” Adams.

A funeral service for Patty will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service in the cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
