Patricia "Trish" "Bear" (Fields) Westerman

Patricia “Trish” “Bear” Westerman, 62, of North Vernon, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at her residence.

Born March 9, 1962, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Della Mae (Miller) Fields. She married John Westerman on July 5, 1978, in Jellico, Tennessee; he preceded her in death.

Trish was a CNA all her life and had worked for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville. She was a member of the New Freedom Baptist Church. Trish enjoyed music, being outdoors, and she loved going places and being with her grandkids and family.

Survivors include her daughters, Sonya Neff and Stacy (Terry) Roark, both of North Vernon, and Shelly Dierkes of Madison; bonus children, Molita Martinez of Scipio, Samantha (Marshall) Martin of Dupont and Patricia (Enrique “Ricky Papi” ) Gomez-Jimenez of North Vernon; stepsons, Eric Westerman of Evansville and John Andrew “Andy” Westerman of Ocala, Florida; siblings, Roy (Donna) Fields, Billy (Debbie) Fields, Jack (Cricket) Vaughn, Joyce (Doug) Fields, Kathleen Vaughn, Vickie (Junior) Patrick, Brenda Anderson, Susan (Bob) Adams, Tina Downey, James Fields, and Ricky Fields; twenty-four grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Harold Hartwell of Scipio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Jason Westerman; daughters, Tiffany Westerman and Amber Jones and brother, Robert Fields.

In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service was entrusted with the care of arrangements.
