Paul August “Fuzzy” Bott, 86, of Dupont, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his residence.
Born May 12, 1935, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Ludgar and Clara (Sell) Bott. He married Carolyn Murphy on June 26, 1955; she preceded him in death on August 24, 2016.
Paul worked as a pin setter at the bowling alley for his first job. He later worked at Howard Hendricks Garage, Deans Marathon, John Deere Sales, and Bill’s Liquor Store, all in North Vernon. He also worked as a tug boat worker, worked for Halls Package Liquor in Dupont, as a bus driver for Jennings County Schools and St. Mary’s Catholic School for over 25 years, and retired from the North Vernon Water Plant in 2000. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Mary’s Church and was a volunteer fireman in North Vernon. Paul enjoyed bowling in the Men’s League in North Vernon.
He is survived by his sons, Donald (Juanita) Bott, Kevin (Robin) Bott and Jeff Bott, all of Dupont, and Joe (Bev) Bott of Columbus; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Petro of Dupont; brothers, Joe (Mary) Bott of North Vernon and Johnny Bott of Scipio; grandchildren, Chris (Trish) Bott, Jacob (Renea) Bott, and Timothy Bott, all of Dupont, Nicole (Kevin) Aldrige of Madison, Samantha Bott of Illinois, Kathy Pool of Columbus, Gary Bott, Sara Bott, and Crystal (Kyle) Willis, all of North Vernon, and Beth (Andy) Baker of Seymour; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and his brothers, Robert and Leo Bott.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Larry French officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Graham Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Paul to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
