Paul E. Brooks

Paul E. Brooks, 73, of North Vernon, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Jennings County.

Born November 16, 1951, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Clarence Estes and Virginia L. (Robbins) Brooks. He married Pauline Barker on November 25, 1972, in Seymour; she survives.

Paul was a 1970 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as a manufacturing engineer for Cummins Engine Company for 35 years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing and Freedom Hunt. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, volunteering at schools and socializing. He was known for playing Santa and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving with his wife, Pauline, is his son, Matthew (Rose) Brooks of Seymour; daughter, Amber (Jay) Roberts of Paris Crossing; brother, Clifford (Judy) Brooks of Crothersville; sisters, Diane Robbins of North Vernon, Donna (Marty) Bruce of Crothersville, Sharon Kay (Roy) McIntosh of Austin; grandchildren, Dakota Brooks of North Vernon; Haley Roberts and Chase Roberts, both of Paris Crossing and Ethan Paul Brooks of Muncie; and great-grandchild, Emmett Brooks of Muncie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd, Jackie, Walter and Warren Brooks; and sister Phyllis Harmon.

A funeral service for Paul will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Ron McKinney officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Paul through the funeral home to Freedom Hunt.
