Paul Richard Farrell Jr., 86, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:28 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Born September 26, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Paul Farrell Sr. and Mildred (Alfini) Farrell.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1960. He was a farmer. Paul drove a school bus for Jennings County Schools for 44 years, drove a dump truck, and was the builder of Countryside Estates in Hayden. He operated Paul’s Auto Sales in North Vernon. Paul was a board member of Hayden Water Association. His enjoyments included fishing at Hardy Lake, snow mobiles, watching I.U. Basketball, and collecting of International Harvester Tractors, and Classic Cars.
Paul is survived by his son, Rick Farrell of Hayden; daughter, Kaily Farrell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Farrell of North Vernon; significant other, Kaye Sullivan of North Vernon; grandchildren, Corey (Jessica) Rawls of Seymour, and Ethan Farrell and Alex Farrell, both of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Collin Rawls, Macie Rawls and Bryanna Rawls, all of Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sindee Farrell-Rawls; son, Tony Farrell; and sister, Marilyn Rutherford.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Hayden Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of Matt Hester Post #2021.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials for Paul be made through the funeral home to Hayden Fire Department, Hayden Historical Museum or Hayden Elementary.
