Peggy Sue (Pitts) Heitz

Peggy Sue Heitz, 53, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at her residence.

Born September 12, 1969, in Buford, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Roger Pitts. She married Brian Heitz on May 24, 1996; he preceded her in death.

Peggy received her GED in 1995 from the Southern Indiana Career Center in Versailles. She worked in a factory, and nursing home, and for Showring Magazine. Peggy enjoyed listening to music, riding motorcycles, and bonfires. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Bella.

Survivors include her daughter, Amber (Shaun Murray) Hatton of North Vernon; sister, Jessica (Johnnie Knight) Pitts of Columbus; and grandchildren, Alexander Hatton and Kiarra Burton, both of North Vernon, and Taylor Hatton and Courtney Hatton, both of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her father; her son, Matthew Hatton; sister, Christy McGrath-Erdel; and grandparents, Hoyt and Bessie Pitts.

In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
