Penny Sue “Gigi” DeVoll, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:14 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
Born May 29, 1948, in Seymour, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora (Niewedde) Lucas.
Penny worked for the Community Care Center for eleven years and for Componox for ten years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 655 in Seymour. She loved the life that she led with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with all of them.
She is survived by her son, K. Marshall (Cathy) DeVoll of Bussy, Iowa; daughters, Jessie DeVoll and Pandora Patten, both of North Vernon, and Kathy (Bob) Griffith of Smyrna, Tennessee; brother, Marvin Dale (Terry) Lucas of Seymour; sister, Patty (Harrold “Stretch”) Wineinger of Seymour; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her companion, Roscoe Olds; brothers, Russell, James, and Jerry Lucas; sister, Peggy Strong; grandson, Brent DeVoll; and granddaughter, Asia Dawn Asbury.
Family and friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19, we will be adhering to the CDC’s regulations on public gatherings by only allowing ten people in the funeral home at a time. We thank everyone for their continued cooperation and support as we work together to help keep our community safe. Burial will be in the Cana Cemetery.
