Phillip Neal Collison, 72, of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at his residence.
Born June 26, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Zylon “Zeke’ and Narka (Sappington) Collison.
Phillip was an original road crew member of NRBQ Band, where he helped with stage monitors, moving and tuning pianos, repairing guitars and clavinets and drove the truck for more than twenty years. He also worked for ASPCA. He was a member of the Sierra Club in New York. Phillip enjoyed music and had a love for animals, especially birds.
He is survived by his brother, Sherman Collison of Louisville, Kentucky, and his sisters, Sheryl Henon of Louisville, Kentucky and Karen (Dale Thompson) Maxey of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kerry William Kenney.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation is planned and no services are to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Phillip through the funeral home to the ASPCA.
