Phyllis Sue Hardy, 73, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born June 30, 1948, in Holton, she was the daughter of Frank and Laura (Watkins) Moore. She married Carlos “Harv” Hardy on December 28, 1967; he preceded her in death.
Phyllis was a receptionist for ISA Recycling for 13 years before retiring. She was a member of Dabney Baptist Church. Phyllis enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working puzzles and crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, writing poems, and spending time with and going out to dinner with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla (Darren) Smith of Holton; brother, George Moore of North Vernon; grandchildren, Alax Furnish and Megan James, both of Holton; great-grandchildren, Rayne Orwig and Malaki James, both of Madison, and Maison Taylor of Osgood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Candice Hardy; brothers, Elmer, Johnny, Robert, Bill, James Sewell and Dude Moore; and sisters, Frances Hollan, Emma Miller, Sara An Sharp and Birthy Moore.
A funeral service for Phyllis will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with the Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.
Memorials may be made in honor of Phyllis through the funeral home for expenses.
