Randall Lee Gilland, 46, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born September 14, 1977, in Seymour, he was the son of Randell Lee Gilland and Janice (Ritchie) Collins.
Randall worked 14 years for Hoover Construction and at SET Enterprises pouring concrete. He was a former member of Sixth Street Baptist Church in North Vernon. He was a stock car race car driver and a two-time track champion; he raced locally in Brownstown and Lawrenceburg. Randall liked attending car shows, fishing and hot rods. He began his racing career racing go-karts as a kid.
He is survived by his sons, Dalton Gilland of Columbus and Dylan Gilland of Butlerville; his daughters, Avianna Gilland, Paylin Gilland, and Journey Gilland, all of North Vernon; his father, Randell Gilland of North Vernon; his mother, Janice Collins of North Vernon; brother, Derrick (Jazmin) Collins of North Vernon; sisters, Rebbecca Michelle (Ryan) Lee of Wichita, Kansas, and Jessica (Deanna) Collins of Columbus; and his ex-wife, Crystal (John) Tyler of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keegan Gilland; grandparents, Ralph Gilland, Elsie Patterson, Bert Ritchie, and Julia Kehrt; and uncles, James and Mike Gilland.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Veron with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials in honor of Randall may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
