Randy Lee Boardman

Randy Lee Boardman, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at his residence.

Born July 21, 1953, in Scottsburg, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Velma (Simmons) Boardman. He married Janet James on May 17, 1974, at the Commiskey Baptist Church in Commiskey; she survives.

Randy was a 1971 graduate of Jennings County High School. He worked as a commercial roofer for Hinshaw Roofing in Columbus for 30 years. Randy liked to golf and was a member of St. Anne’s Golf Course in North Vernon. He enjoyed Notre Dame football and sprint car racing.

Surviving with his wife of 50 years, Janet, is his son, Robert Dale (Sara) Boardman; his daughters, Tina (Bryan) Gresham and Sara (Aaron) Kovacich; brother, Eric Boardman; sister, Traci Bearhope; and grandchildren, Kylee Boardman, Halle Boardman, Lainey Gresham, Amilia Gresham, Aida Kovacich, Sylvia Kovacich, and Brennan Kovacich.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with his and his family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a private graveside to be held. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Randy through the funeral home to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
