Ray Austin Kessinger, 26, of Scottsburg, passed away at 10:56 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Born April 2, 1998, in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of Virginia (Carmichael) Patterson.
Ray was a deli manager at Wal-Mart. He was a member of The Worship Center in North Vernon. Ray enjoyed fishing, farming, mudding and messing around with cars, he liked buying them and flipping them. He loved the country life and was constantly busy.
Survivors include his son, Cooper Kessinger of Columbus; fiancé, Hope Aikens of Scottsburg; brother, Josh Sheridan of Kentucky; sister, Haley Kessinger of North Vernon; uncle, Dennis Carmichael of Butlerville; and grandmother, Rosetta Carmichael of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandfather, Dennis Carmichael Sr.
In keeping with his wishes and his family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a celebration of life service to be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon was entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer's Association.
