Rebecca Lynn Machlan, 60, of Columbus, passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
Born February 13, 1966, in Madison, she was the daughter of the late James Curtis and Pauline (Stamper) Warf. She married Larry Machlan in 1995; he preceded her in death in 2010.
Rebecca was a 1984 graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover and attended Indiana State College, Hanover College and Franklin College. She worked as an attendant for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville. Rebecca attended First Assembly of God in Madison. She enjoyed singing, adult coloring, visiting friends at nursing homes, and calling and talking with her family.
Survivors include her brothers, James Blair and his wife Melissa of Butlerville and Travis Blair and his wife Rae of North Vernon; her sister, Jamie Evans and her husband Wayne of Seymour; companion, Tim Garrett of Southport; several nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Jeremy Wayne Mahoney of Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Lester Jay Blair; sister, Kathy Hough; stepfather, Norman Marsh; and niece, Lucy Fisher.
In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Rebecca for help with funeral expenses.
