Robert Dale Baxter

Robert Dale Baxter, 80, of Seymour, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Meadowview Health and Rehabilitation in Salem.

Born July 23, 1944, in Crothersville, he was the son of the late Orville W. and Agnes M. (Abbott) Baxter. He married Betty Mae (Edwards) Caldwell on December 23, 1980; she preceded him in death on May 8, 1996.

Robert worked for the Indiana State Highway Department for six years. He ejoyed fishing, NASCAR, cats and dogs.

Survivors include his brother, Carl Baxter of Scottsburg and his niece Christina Creswell of Scottsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Jerry, Don, and Richard Baxter; and sister, Betty Taylor.

In keeping with his and his family’s wishes cremation is planned with private graveside services in the Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Robert through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
