Robert Lavon "Bob" Young

Robert Lavon "Bob" Young, 60, of Huntington, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the home of his sister in North Vernon.

Born December 28, 1963, in Huntington, he was the son of the late Sherman and Gloria (Cross) Young.

Bob was a 1981 graduate of Huntington North High School. He was a lifelong autobody worker. He accepted Jesus and gave up alcohol in July of 2024. He was a member of the American Legion Post #85 in Huntington. Bob enjoyed working on cars, drafting, and drawing. He was a jokester and did impressions.

Survivors include his daughter, Trisha (Damon) Prater of Silver Lake; son, Casey Hadley of Fort Wayne; brothers, Larry (Tracy) Kissinger and Chad (Christy) Young, both of Huntington, and Doug (Janna) Young; sisters, Hope (Mike) Peck of North Vernon; Cheryl (Rick Tester) Forth and April Shaw, both of Huntington, Laurie (Richey) Lagrone, and Sharon (Mike Kesterson) Cummings; and grandchildren, Kamryn (Jaida) Keeling, Jailyn (Daniel) Armitage, Trinity Johnston, Hunter Prater, and Brantley Prater.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph and Gene Young; and his sister, Dawn Renee Young.

In keeping with his and his family’s wishes, cremation is planned, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date at the American Legion in Huntington. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bob through the funeral home to the American Legion Post #85 in Huntington.
