Roger Eugene King, 76, of North Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at his residence.
Born February 4, 1944 in Midway, Kentucky, he was the son of Roy and Edna Thompson King. He marred Barbara Evans on June 12, 1965, in Indianapolis; she preceded him in death on July 27, 2010.
Roger was a lifelong truck driver, retiring in 2010 from Worldwide Dedicated Service who provided drivers for Tractor Supply. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his daughters, Amy Banks of North Vernon, Michelle (Ken) Hammond and Melissa Welch, both of Greenwood, and Deborah Wendell, of Indianapolis; brother, Roy (Irene) King of Wabash; and grandchildren, Ryleigh Banks and Chase Banks, both of North Vernon, Erika Hammond of Greenwood, and Stephen Miller of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother, Walter King; and sister, Dorothy Estes.
In keeping with his family’s wishes, cremation is planned, with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Roger through the funeral home for expenses.
