Ronald Edward Ashton

Ronald Edward Ashton, 69, of Butlerville, passed away at 7:29 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his residence.

Born July 7, 1956, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Hubert Mason Ashton and Mary Martha Poore.

Ronald went to school in Zenas and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed small garden tractors, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving is his brother Daniel Keith (Belinda) Ashton of Madison; sister, Dianna (Ronnie) Bott of North Vernon; nephews, Eric (Candi) Ashton of Madison, Jason (Christy) Ashton of Bedford, Kentucky, and Patrick (Anita) Sons of North Vernon; nieces, Kristy (Justin Cline) Poore, of North Vernon, Sara (Jason) Brown of Madison, Bobbie Jo (Joe) Hammel and Amanda June (Brad) Lucas both of Butlerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Arnold Ashton and William Leroy Ashton; sister, Mary Etta Wright; nephews, Oliver Hammel and Benny Hammel; and great-niece, Annabelle Lucas.

The visitation for family and friends of Ronald will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Ronald for funeral expenses.
