Ronald James Langley, 79, of Greenwood, passed away on the morning of Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Community South Hospital in Greenwood, IN.
Born December 17, 1946, in Spencer, he was the son of Wilbur and Dorothy (Johnson) Langley. He married Kathleen Williams on August 3, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee; she survives.
Ronald was a 1965 Graduate of Spencer High School in Spencer and attended IUPUI for engineering. Ronald served in the US Marine Corp in Okinawa from 1968 to 1972. He was a member of the Crossroads Community Church in Scipio. He retired from Verizon after 30 years and was also a school bus driver for Colorado Bus District, Line man for Con-Tel telephone company and Mabell Telephone in Memphis, Tennessee. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Surviving with his wife, Kathleen, are one son – Mark (Jennifer) Langley of Pueblo, Colorado; three daughters – Jean Edgar of North Vernon, Angie (Patrick) Alexander of Salado, Texas and Jessica Langley of Pflugerville, Texas; one brother – Mike (Maggie) Langley of Anderson; one uncle – Richard (Barbara) Cooper of Indianapolis; sixteen grandchildren – Andi (Pete) Crater, Casey Edgar, Dylan (Tia) Edgar, Robbie Edgar, Nathan Edgar, Noah Crater, Sophia Crater, Emily Crater, Lucy Crater, Keylan Hayes, Belle Hayes, and Madelyn Edgar, all of North Vernon, Nicholas Edgar of Columbus, Gwen Langley of Pflugerville, Texas, Vaughn Alexander and Gianna Alexander, both of Salado, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers – Tony and Rick Langley; and a son in law – Andy Edgar.
Per family request, no public services are planned at this time. Services were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to VFW Matt Hester Post 2021 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
