Ronald Ted Lawson, 73, of Vernon, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born February 19, 1947, in Anderson, he was the son of the late George Lawson and Addie (Goodpaster) Richards. He married Linda (Key) Lawson on August 21, 1965 in Anderson; she survives.
Ronald worked for Mayflower, Triad Steel, and as a truck driver for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. He was a member of the Vernon Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, horse racing, going to Florida, telling stories, and talking to people. He especially loved his family and enjoyed cooking for them.
Surviving with his wife is his son, Don (Tamara) Lawson of North Vernon; daughter, Lisa Royse of North Vernon; brothers, Oddie Richards of Carmel and Wally Richards and Ralph Richards, both of Anderson; sisters, Mildred Caster, Julie Richards, and Dottie LeAnn Jarvis, all of Anderson; and grandchildren, Dustin Lawson and Heather Royse, both of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Odis Richards; brothers, Danny Richards and Don Richards; sisters, Dottie Reagan, Susie Richards, and Bonnie Reagan; and son-in-law, Scott Royse.
A celebration of life for Ronald will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the Vernon Baptist Church Family Life Center with the Rev. Don Morris and Rev. James Shucks officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.
