Ronald Eugene Lucas Sr.

Ronald Eugene Lucas Sr., 77, of Butlerville, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born August 19, 1946, in Brown County, he was the son of the late George and Frances Josephine (Mathis) Lucas. He married Dorita Dale Stewart in Gnaw Bone; she preceded him in death. Ronald was self employed in the salvage industry and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the American Legion, both in Columbus.

He is survived by his son, Ronald Eugene Lucas Jr., both of Columbus; daughters, Cheyenne Lucas of Bedford, Deb (Jeff Legan) Stogdill and Rebecca (Dennis) Garris, both of Butlerville, and Michelle (Perry) Pettigrew of Columbus; brothers, Billy Joe Lucas and Richard Allen Lucas, both of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces, Diane (Richard) Poole and Mary Crum, both of Columbus.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Regina Stogdill; sister, Mary Jane Imlay; and brothers, Leroy, Wayne, Rex, Eve, Don, Jim, and Bob Lucas.

In keeping with his family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
