Rose “Sharon” Earl, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:18 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Millers Merry Manor in Hope.
Born August 30th, 1940, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Verlie and Rosie (Engle) McCalip. She married James Leland Earl in April of 1983 in Vernon; he preceded her in death on February 25, 2013.
Sharon graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1958 and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and painting oil portraits.
Survivors include her son, Mark Neafus of Hope; daughter, Karen (Darrell) Baugher of Columbus; grandchildren, David (Sarah) Baugher of Brookville, Emily (Andrew) Hevle of West Lafayette, and Shane (Kelsie) Neafus and Nicholas Neafus, both of Hope; and great-grandchildren, Smith Baugher, Atticus Baugher, and Annabelle Baugher, all of Brookville, Gunner Neafus of Hope, and Nissa Hevle, Kabel Hevle, and Jason Hevle, all of West Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Larry, Milton and Michael McCalip.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope.
