Rose Marie “Granny Rose” Wolfe, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Born February 13, 1937, in Dubois County, she was the daughter of Ray and Alleen (Kemp) Ranger.
Rose attended school in Holland, Indiana. She worked at Jerry’s Restaurant and Hamilton Costco, both in Columbus, and Holland Dairy in Holland. She was also a housewife and babysat. Rose was a member of Nebraska Church of God. She enjoyed flowers, yardwork, windchimes, camping, and being outdoors. Most of all, she enjoyed being “Granny Rose.”
Survivors include her husband, Dale; son, Greg (Anna) Yates of North Vernon; daughters, Robin (Jeff) Patterson, Kimberly Jane Wolfe, and Dalena Mae Robertson, all of North Vernon, Terry (Kerry Black) Peters of Greensburg, brother, Garland Ranger of Huntingburg; sister, Jean (Gene) Huddleston of North Vernon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Paula Jean Wolfe; sons, Michael Ray Yates, Jerry Lee Yates, and Emmett Edwin “JR” Yates.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with William P. Means, Pastor officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Nebraska Church of God.
