Ruth Ann Feightner, 56, of Shelbyville, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on July 7, 1967, in Madison, the daughter of the late Noble Graves and Evelyn (Burris) Graves. She married David A. Feightner on February 14, 2018, in Wichita, Kansas; he survives.
Ruth was a 1985 graduate of Jennings County High School and attended Ball State in Muncie. She worked at Shoe Sensation in Shelbyville and had previously worked for Wal-Mart in Madison; Wichita, Kansas; and as a Supervisor in Shelbyville for four and half years. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in North Vernon and Christian International Church in Versailles.
Ruth loved being outdoors and camping. She would say she enjoyed having her hands in the dirt. Some of her favorite things were doing yard work and working in the flower beds. She liked to cook, sing, and play instruments. Ruth took pride in helping others when she was able. She was a very giving and loving person. Decorating was a true talent of hers and she liked collecting black bear figurines that she got in Tennessee.
Surviving with her husband, David, are her children, Paul (Heather) Kasper, Aliccia Kasper, and Steven Kasper, all of Madison; her stepson, Ty Feightner of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Aram, Ashlyn, Easton, and Emery Kasper, all of Madison; sisters, Pamela (Rick) Sampson of Madison and Jane (David) Trapp of North Vernon; her beloved dog, Bandit; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steven Graves; and nephew, Jason Gross.
