Samuel Vincent Cox

Samuel Vincent Cox, 63, of Butlerville, passed away at 9:23 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born February 18, 1961, in Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl and Betty Jean Cox. He married Debbie Matheny on October 6, 1980, in Hamilton, Ohio; she survives.

Samuel was a 1979 graduate of Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force from 1980 until 2000. Samuel worked for Mac Tac Morgan Adhesives in Columbus for 12 years and the tool crib at Decatur Mold in North Vernon for 12 years. He enjoyed playing on his phone.

Surviving with his wife of 44 years, Debbie, are his sons, Robert (Ashley) Cox of North Vernon and Jason Allen (Amanda) Cox of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Cox of Evansville; brothers, Timothy A. Cox of Hamilton, Ohio and Pete (Sasha Woodward) Cox of Aurora; sisters, Carla Smith and Anita Turner, both of Hamilton, Ohio; and grandchildren, Patrick Cox, Nathan Cox,  Aidan Cox, and David Cox, all of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Skylar Cox, Kaylen Cox, and Adylin Cox, all of North Vernon, and Iziah Cox of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Michael Cox; and granddaughter, Aliyah Cox.

A funeral service for Samuel will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison with military graveside honors.
