Sandra Lee (Minor) Jahrries

Sandra Lee Jahrries, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at her residence.

Born October 3, 1943, in Madison, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Florence (Born) Minor. She married Bernard Joseph Jahrries on May 5, 1962, in Madison; he preceded her death on August 7, 2023.

Sandra was a 1962 graduate of Madison High School and worked receiving for Wal-Mart from March of 1988 until her retirement in October 2021. She had previously worked for TG&Y in North Vernon for 6 years and set up and sold at flea markets for years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Cahtolic Church. Sandra enjoyed flea markets, sewing, cooking, crafts and reading.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Jahrries of Columbus and Scott Jahrries of North Vernon; brother, Dale (Darlene) Minor of Madison; sister, Patricia Ogden of Madison; grandchildren, Ellia Jahrries and Lee Jahrries, both of Columbus and Matthew Goen of North Vernon; granddaughter-in-law, Autumn (Josh) Jahrries-Burkman of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Alex Cook, Xavier Jahrries, Corbin Jahrries, and Jocelyn Jahrries, all of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Melinda Sue Jahrries; brother, Kenneth Minor; sister, Marlene Green; and grandson, Bryant Jahrries.

In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Sandra to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
